A city-wide network of walking routes and trails, and development of a digital platform to promote these coherently and effectively
Aim: To create an accessible digital platform to present Bristol's Parks and Green Spaces coherently and to connect information about Parks and Green Spaces including their facilities, Parks Groups activities and events to make these visible to the visitor and domestic economies.
To work with partners across the city to ensure that there are walking routes joining all parks and green spaces in the city. To collate and present those that already exist - identifying ‘gaps’ in provision across the city, and to create new routes/trails to complete the network.
To create a coherent design & content for a platform for presentation/access via the web, enabling ongoing awareness of and promotion of Bristol’s Parks and Green Spaces including walking routes/trails by Parks Groups and others post-BGC2015, enabling Destination Bristol to promote Bristol’s Parks and Green Spaces more effectively to visitors and residents.
New Green, Historic, Literary and/or Cultural walking routes
To develop new green, cultural, literary and/or historical routes which fill identified gaps and produce new, illustrated routes which will complete the network of trails/walks between Parks and Green Spaces in the city.
1. To research and collate existing walking routes/trails across Bristol, and to explore how to present these coherently via an accessible digital platform.
2. To co-ordinate existing routes & identify ‘gaps’ across Bristol.
3. Produce new trails/routes to complete a city-wide network of walking routes/trails between Parks and Green Spaces.
4. Work with partners across the city to ensure effective use of volunteering from UWE, local history and heritage groups, corporate partners and Neighbourhood Partnership volunteers to achieve aims of work strand.
